Flinthill Irish Setters

We bought our first Irish Setter, Connie (Over the Hills and Far Away) from Bob and Joanne Allport in 1989. We were devastated when we lost her aged four in a road accident and soon afterwards, Dinah (Lanstara Summer Thyme at Flinthill) joined us for 13 happy years.

Dinah was shown only lightly but was at Crufts 1995 and won third place in the Border Counties Top Gundog competition. She had a lovely litter by Catriona MacDonald's Reddins Connal and spent two years as a PAT Dog. She was bred by Vic Blackshaw who also bred Dusty (Lanstara Field of Dreams at Flinthill) who was a registered PAT dog and at Crufts 2002.

Sam (Bardonhill Mountain Song for Flinthill) was bred by Marita Bott and arrived in October 2006. Sadly, he was taken with cancer aged only three years but had several good wins in the showring, including Best Puppy in Show at the Irish Setter Club of Scotland Championship Show. He also achieved has KC Good Citizen Bronze and Silver Awards.
