Flinthill: the boys
Flinthill Chocolate Thyme greeted me with a very loud woof when he was only a few days old, hence his name! Born in August 2010, his mother is Thyme and his father is Wherathy Walter at Calderside.
He is a well-known stud dog, having sired some lovely puppies. His first litter of eight puppies was with Marianne Gyarfas' beautiful Hu Ch Pawprint Cool White Victory, born in April, 2013 in Hungary, four of whom are top winners in the show ring. He also has another litter of puppies in Spain and has four litters in the UK, including 12 beautiful puppies by him from Evie, born in February, 2015. His daughter Flora and son Frankie live here at Flinthill.
Mr Woof had some good show wins as a young puppy, including Best Puppy Dog at the Pointer Club of Scotland Open Show and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Ashington & District CS Limited Show.
In July 2011, he was Best Puppy in Show at the Southern Pointer Club Chanmpionship Show and then won RCC at the Pointer Club of Scotland Championship Show in October 2011.
He went on to win well during 2012, being being placed in his class at Crufts and at many championship shows, including winning the Dog CC and Best of Breed at Richmond Championship Show in September.
But more importantly, he has shown good quartering skills on the grouse moors and has a keen nose to find birds.
Mr Woof unfortunately damaged his teeth chewing a dog bed in the kennel and so now has retired from the show ring and is living with friends nearby.
